“Innovative Technology for the Pharmaceutical, Food, Cosmetic and Fine Chemical Industries”

Comil© Applications

Heat sensitive, sticky, high fat and difficult materials can be size reduced continously at a high capacity without excessive heat build-up or screen blockage. The Comil can produce free flowing particles, chunky paste, fine paste or syrup.

  • Disperse fat homogeneously in baking mixes to reduce finishing time:
Doughnut, Pancake, Muffin and Cake mixes.
    Size reduce for reclaim of:
  • Snack Foods (Candies, Cream filled wafers, Chocolate bars, Cookies, Granola bars, Chewing gum)
    Deagglomeration/delump:
  • Raisins or other dried fruit with minimal damage.
  • Sticky, hot cooked cereal to uniform pieces prior to flaker and dryer
  • Powders such as sugar, starch, flour, gelatin and cocoa.
Fine tune bulk density of non-dairy creamers
    Powderize shortening

Benefits of Using The Comil©

  • Low heat – excellent for milling products with low melting points
  • Dramatically reduced dust level
    • Savings in containment/collection devices
    • Reduced product loss
    • Cleaner environment
  • Dramatically reduced noise level (usually well below 80-85 dB(a) range)
  • Uniform particle size (tight particle size distribution – less fines, dust and overs
  • User-friendly design
  • Screen can be changed in two minutes
    • Easy to clean
    • Minimal maintenance – low RPM operation
    • Virtually any feed condition is possible – manual mechanical, pneumatic (pressure of vacuum), choke or controlled
  • Versatility
    • Quadro offers over 200 different types of screens and dozens of impeller types along with many specialized tools that can be used interchangeably on one Comil for multiple applications.
